Joseph was born in New York to a Sephardic Jewish family. He takes a lot of pride in his heritage especially his Mexican and Israeli roots. He is currently a Junior at Brooklyn College and partakes in many pro-Israel events. He is majoring in international business with a minor in both French and Italian. Joseph loves sports and can be found obsessing over them, especially soccer. He got involved with the Hillel when he was a freshman and participates in many events. His main goal is to help make campus more pro-Israel and try his best to make the Hillel a gathering spot for everyone.
My name is Rachel Shadrouz. l was born and raised in New York as a Sephardic Jew with a Persian background . I am currently a sophomore at Brooklyn College majoring in Art History and proceeding to PA school. I enjoy drawing and playing piano. I have a love for Israel and my Jewish heritage. I would love to some day travel around the world to explore the different Jewish cultures in other countries.
Simona Trembitsky is a sophomore at Brooklyn college. She has a vast amount of interests and therefore has not yet decided exactly what she wants to do yet. She is passionate about doing outreach to her community and everyone she comes in contact with. She enjoys vacationing and traveling the world as well as shopping and just chilling out with her friends. Simona feels very passionate about Israel, the Hillel and all that she sets her mind to.
Sabina was born in Azerbaijan and raised in New York. She is currently a sophomore at Brooklyn College. Sabina is interested in psychology and art. She loves graphic design and does most of the flyers for Hillel events. Sabina is shy at times but dont be fooled, she is always available to talk to anyone!
David is from the former Soviet Union, his family migrated to the United States when he was only three. David takes great responsibility in leadership and organizational roles within the Russian Jewish Club. He is a Business and Marketing major in Brooklyn College. He hopes to bring more Jewish people together and all people in general, and as a former promoter and organizer he uses his skills to his advantage.
Sophia became involved with Hillel last year after she volunteered with Hillel at Give Kids The World, a non-profit organization that focuses on fulfilling the wishes of severally ill-children. In her spare time, Sophia enjoys volunteering at her local Community Center where she works educating young children about Judaism and at the Sephardic Nursing and Rehabilitation Center where she visits elderly with Alzheimer. One day Sophia hopes on receiving her Masters in Speech Pathology where she can better the health of those in her community and comfort others so as to become an exceptional Speech Pathologist.
Michelle is native to Marine Park. She is a junior at Brooklyn college, pursuing a degree in accounting. She is a current Lipper Intern at the Museum of Jewish Heritage: A Living Memorial to the Holocaust. She is also a Hasbara Fellow, which allowed her to travel to Israel to learn about it's economic, political and cultural life and the events that preceded its formation. Michelle can't wait to incorporate her love for Israel into Brooklyn College. She plans on shedding light to the beauty of Israel by creating many cultural events addressing all the wonders of Israel. She also plans on creating events that discuss Israeli politics and anti-Israel behavior. She hopes that by the end of the year people will have a better understanding to what Israel is all about.
Michael is a junior at Brooklyn College. As Co-President of NYSIPAC, he hopes to strengthen the US-Israel student relationship. He likes to promote open dialogue, different perspectives, and is ready to engage others on Israel's land, culture, history, peoples, religions and beyond.
Beata Samel is a sophomore at Brooklyn College and is currently studying political science. She enjoys cooking and reading history books. Her goal is to bring Israel to the different parts of Brooklyn College this semester.
Moshe is a Junior at Brooklyn College, studying Computer Science. Moshe enjoys reading, writing, and photography.
Gabriella was born and raised in Brooklyn. She currently is a sophomore at Brooklyn College majoring in business. Gabriella enjoys anything related to art and will try to incorporate some "color" into the Orthodox Jewish world on campus.
Daniel is 20 years old who has studied abroad in Israel for a year and a half. Daniel is studying dentistry while majoring in business with a concentration in health professions. Daniel takes great pride in his faith and there for joined the Hillel board and takes his role as Vice president of the orthodox club very seriously.
Born and raised in New York, Rebecca is a true city girl. She spends her time in school hanging out with friends and studying. She's majoring in business with a concentration in business law and real estate and a minor in political science. With a business background she aspires to attend law school and specialize in family law. In addition to her interest in business and law, Rebecca is also a dedicated member of the Orthodox Club as a public relations officer.
My name is Merav. I was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York with a Hungarian and Mexican background. I am currently a sophomore at Brooklyn College majoring in exercise science and continuing onto PT school. I enjoy spending my free time doing creative activities and volunteering for the after school program. Someday I would love to travel to Africa and make a difference in the lives of homeless children.
Batsheva Becher was born and raised in Brooklyn (where else?). She is a Senior majoring in Psychology and would like to be a Physician Assistant. She has been involved with LINK since last year. She LOVES to bike and has even completed a 42 mile biking marathon! Batsheva is looking forward to all the amazing events that LINK has planned for this year!
Robin lives in Brooklyn and studies computer science. She is an assemblywoman on the Brooklyn College CLAS Student Government and sits on its Budget and Finance Committee. Last year, Robin was the campus CAMERA (Committee for Accuracy in Middle East Reporting in America) fellow as well as the vice president of JAWS (Jewish Alliance for Women in Science). She also founded and chaired the campus’s ACM-W chapter whose purpose is to promote women in the computer science field.
Miriam is a senior at Brooklyn College and is double majoring in psychology and biology. She enjoys going to rock concerts, thrift shopping, reading fantasy novels, traveling, and watching foreign films. Her goal is to share her love of Israel to the campus through engaging students and coordinating various Israel related events.
