1) Fall Intern with UJA-Federation's Marketing/Communications Department
Get great editorial experience as a fall semester intern for the editorial content group at UJA-Federation of New York, the world’s largest local philanthropy. Have the opportunity to research, write and have published stories for the web and for print.
This spot within UJA-Federation’s Marketing & Communication department will provide the chance to gain publishing and communications experience. Strong reporting and writing skills are essential, as is ability to work in a collaborative environment.
Schedule is 2-3 days a week, 10-15 hours total.

2) UJA- Federation of New York – Media Relations Intern
UJA-Federation of New York Interactive Services department is seeking a highly motivated spring / summer intern to assist the management team for at least 20 hours a week starting immediately. We are seeking an eager, fast-learner who has a strong interest in media and communications within the non-profit sector. Responsibilities will include:
* Assist communications team with agency, commission, and event PR, including researching and writing press releases.
* Assist managers with the obituary process including writing, editing approval process of UJA-Federation paid death notices appearing in The New York Times.
* Assist with post-event tasks including, but not limited to photo selection, acquisition of photo release forms, administrative tasks.
* Assist with media analysis including media research, tracking and compilation, along with administrative tasks as needed.
* Perform administrative duties for PR management team.
* Compile media list for the communication team’s publicity outreach using Cision database.
Possibility of college credit and DOE
Requirements:
Ideal candidate must possess excellent writing and oral communication skills, be detail oriented, self-motivated, reliable, and able to work with a wide range of individuals. Candidate must be computer literate, (MS Office, Photoshop, Internet Applications). Students with a background in journalism, marketing, or communications will be given preference. Graduate students strongly preferred.
