Strategic Marketing and Communications Intern (Spring Semester, Part-Time)

Organization: Hillel: The Foundation for Jewish Campus Life is the largest Jewish campus organization in the world. It seeks to engage every Jewish student, from those with strong Jewish backgrounds to those with none at all. This internship takes place with the international headquarters of the organization, which serves students at more than 550 colleges and communities globally. Once seen as “the synagogue on campus,” Hillel today encourages students to take ownership of their Jewish experience and define “Jewish” their own way. 

Internship Position: Strategic Marketing and Communications Intern (Spring Semester, Part-Time)

Dates: April- May/early June

Stipend: $10/hr

Description: Sure, we’re a nonprofit. Your hours will be great (no late nights) and you can wear jeans on Fridays. But this won’t be a coffee-getting, PowerPoint-prettifying internship. Administrative tasks will be very limited. You will be a part of a small team and will therefore have big responsibilities with real impact. We look forward to expanding your experience and helping you develop your strategic thinking and creative marketing skills. You will be given substantial projects with implications for the organization at large. In return, we expect you to treat this internship as a real job and come prepared to give it your all. 

Responsibilities:

  • Produce strategic marketing plans for multiple projects
  • Create innovative approaches to marketing Hillel with an emphasis on high school student and parent outreach and website development
  • Develop written and web-based content to engage current high school and college students
  • Manage Major Donor mailings, working with other departments to coordinate copywriting, creative, and production

 

Qualifications

  • Strong Verbal and Written Communication Skills
  • Ability to work independently and complete assigned tasks within identified timeframes
  • Takes initiative in creative, out-of-the-box thinking
  • Exhibits positive attitude and a problem solving mentality
  • Willingness to give presentations to the team
  • Excitement to work at a Jewish nonprofit organization dedicated to college students
