Educational Resources Unit (New York, NY)
Job Description
AJWS's Educational Resources Unit develops resources and publications to educate American Jews and AJWS volunteers about Jewish global citizenship. We are seeking a creative and enthusiastic summer program associate with strong Jewish text skills to join our team and manage several projects from mid-May through August 13, 2010 for approximately 35-40 hours per week.
Responsibilities
* Managing, editing and producing publications linking Jewish texts/holidays to global justice issues.
* Managing and communicating with consultants and writing fellows, including the 5770 Dvar Tzedek fellows.
* Managing the selection process of the Dvar Tzedek competitive writing fellowship for the 5771 calendar year.
* Maintaining and expanding aspects of the On1Foot educational website, including content development and communication with users.
* Providing Jewish content support for existing education projects.
* Assisting with curriculum development projects.
Qualifications
* Fluency in Jewish texts
* Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Strong organizational skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Attention to detail
* Interest in the work of AJWS
* Education experience preferred
* Current graduate and/or rabbinical students preferred
Compensation
$3,000 per month
