Andrew, Randee, and Laura's Story
“You gave us a way to give back to the world.”
A group of Brooklyn College students watched peers travel to volunteer in impoverished countries and put into action the Jewish value of mending the world. But for these students working to pay their own tuition, trips like these were unaffordable.
So the Tanger Hillel at Brooklyn College turned to UJA-Federation of New York. UJA-Federation provided the funds to send the students to Nicaragua — and created a new program to make volunteerism possible for students every year. So young Jews not only can do good work abroad, they can return inspired to do even more.
