The Workmen’s Circle, a Jewish cultural and educational non-profit based in Manhattan would like to share information about a new initiative which we thought would be of interest to your students: our Building On Our History activist program.
Building On Our History is bringing together a network of college students—we call them Peer Educators—who are eager to shape the next generation of Jewish activists. We’re looking for students ages 18-21 with a passion for social justice + Jewish culture and a knack for working with teenagers. We’re offering a $1,000 stipend and would love if Brooklyn College Hillel students applied.
This is a unique opportunity for your students to gain concrete experience in creating sustainable social and economic change. In late June, Peer Educators will participate in trainings with veteran educators and leading activists. During the summer and the school year, we’ll take them to camps, schools and youth groups across the Tri-State area so they can empower teens to lead their own community organizing.
We’re considering applications on rolling basis until Tuesday, May 31st. Applications may be emailed directly email@example.com.
